Grants and Contracts

SimBiotic Software regularly receives competitive grants from the National Science Foundation and the National Institutes of Health. Our grants and the resulting collaborations have allowed us to extend the range of our simulation programs and to perform research on student misconceptions in biology and how to overcome those with simulated labs. We're especially excited about the educational research aspects of our projects and welcome collaborations with other biology education researchers. We also work with academic and non-profit groups on educational projects and provide biological models for researchers using our core modeling framework. Please see our publications list for more information about our research.

Museum Exhibits

Our philosophy in writing simulated experiments for high schools and colleges is very similar to the hands-on science philosophy embodied in the best science museums and other institutions of informal learning. We have been very successful in adapting our laboratories to interactive kiosk displays for museum visitors, ours go beyond simple slideshows or "interactive" displays to allow visitors to actually do experiments that take a minute or two to complete. Different visitors will receive different results.
